The Essential Report is an ongoing opinion poll that leads New Zealand’s political research. Spanning everything from politics to the environment, the economy to equality, the Essential poll tracks the mood of the nation and gets to the heart of issues affecting New Zealanders.
Given New Zealanders are still waiting to see what the formal coalition agreement looks like, its no wonder there is a lack of confidence that the National, ACT and NZ First parties will be able to work constructively together.
Cost of living remains an important issue, and two thirds of New Zealanders don’t expect that the National-led government can improve this; 35% of National voters don’t think they’ll make things better in this area.
